Compressed air safety

Due to the fact that it is so common, many employees fail to recognize it as a potential hazard . What you might not know is that a pressure of as low as  4 PSI can be deadly in the wrong circumstances. SOME OF THE RULES OF COMPRESSED AIR  1. NEVER POINT IT AT YOURSELF OR ANOTHER PERSON!  Y -A pressure of about 12 PSI can blow an eye out of its socket and 40 PSI can even blow out an ear drum.  2. NEVER USE IT TO CLEAN CLOTHING OR HAIR!  -If an air pocket enters the blood stream and travels to the brain, strokes or heart attacks can occur. 3. ALWAYS FOLLOW PRESSURE RATINGS AND LIMITATIONS! -Failure to do so may lead to explosions and injuries there after  4. ALWAYS CHECK THE CONDITION OF HOSES AND LINES BEFORE USE!  -Holes or damaged nozzles can lead to leakages or clogs. 5. ALWAYS WEAR PROPER PPE!  This includes everything from safety glasses to face masks to hearing protection and sometimes respiratory protection. So let's try our best to observe...

Effects of Drug and Substance Abuse

I would like to talk briefly about drug abuse and its effects. I know you've heard about this topic several times before. And I stand here to talk about it once more, because  it's a serious safety and health concern that has inflamed  tqe lives of many in our society. The illegal ones are cocaine, heroin, marijuana, kuber, cannabis and chang'aa. The legal ones are tobacco, miraa and alcohol i.e. beer, wines and spirits. But whether licit or illicit, the abuse of these drugs is never glorious and we must never trumpet it as such. This is because they pose similar threats and effects to the consumer. ...

This day is normally dedicated to raising awareness of the major problem that illicit and psychotropic drugs pose to the society.  From individuals struggling with substance abuse, to communities grappling with the consequences of drug trafficking and organized crime, the impact of drugs is far-reaching and complex. So I will not dig deep into that for now but instead I will share with you some of the indicators or signs that will show you whether someone is affected by this hazard. 1. Being chronically late to work and lack of interest in your duties - this leads to poor work performance. 2. Changes in physical appearance - such as wearing inappropriate or dirty clothing and a lack of interest in grooming. 3. Altered behavior - such as an increased desire for privacy. 4. A significant lack of en...
